FASST - COFDM Video Transmitter
A small, feature-rich COFDM video transmitter designed for racing.
Beck Wireless FASST X is a compact full HD video transmitter with low latency (~ 3 frames) for a variety of sports applications, including in-car transmission and motorcycle racing. .
In line with all Beck Wireless transmission products, the FASST is frequency agile allowing the user to program exactly the right frequency for local conditions.
FASST combines low latency H.264/H.265 codec and COFDM radio modulation for resilient and reliable transmission even in the toughest conditions, with tracking speeds in excess of 150 mph. Operating in the UHF/900Mhz or 2.4Ghz bands, up to 15 Fasst transmitters can be deployed in a single operating environment with ease.
Available with HDMI or 3G-SDI input on the transmitter allows for use with most compact action cameras, while the receiver’s HDMI and 3G-SDI outputs allow for flexibility and easy integration into broadcast systems and recorders.
High quality video and audio are complimented by a connection port (breakout cable included) for embedded serial communication, allowing for live telemetry relay.
Available with 200mW (23dBm) or 1Watt (30dBm) versions, allowing you to cover a 20km Radius with ease with a matching diversity receiver.
COFDM in a nutshell
COFDM (Coded Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) video transmission technology is widely used in the transmission of video signals from bomb disposal robots to their operators. COFDM is a highly reliable method of transmitting high-quality video signals over a long range, making it ideal for use in hazardous environments such as bomb disposal scenarios. COFDM allows the robot to transmit real-time video feed to the operator, providing them with a clear view of the situation and helping them to make informed decisions.
COFDM is also highly resistant to signal interference and distortion, which is essential in bomb disposal scenarios where the transmission of video signals may be disrupted by external factors such as building structures, electromagnetic radiation, or other sources of interference. With COFDM, the robot can transmit video signals over a long distance without experiencing significant signal loss, making it easier for the operator to control the robot and respond to the situation effectively.
In addition to its reliability and resistance to interference, COFDM also allows for encryption and decryption of video signals. This feature is crucial in bomb disposal scenarios, as it ensures that sensitive information is not intercepted by unauthorized individuals. By encrypting the video signals, operators can transmit sensitive information securely and ensure that it remains confidential, further enhancing the safety and security of bomb disposal operations. Overall, COFDM video transmission technology plays a crucial role in bomb disposal robots by providing reliable, secure, and high-quality video signals that allow operators to carry out their tasks safely and effectively.
